a) Children are at no risk from COVID, regardless of the variant. They cannot get seriously ill or even effectively transmit the virus to adults. The reason is that they either do not have, or have relatively few, ACE2 receptors in their respiratory tract. Therefore, although they can collect virions on their mucosal tissues, the virus cannot effectively infect that tissue and so there are few symptoms nor can there be any significant shedding of the virus:
b) The risk of experiencing serious adverse effects from the mRNA injections decreases with age: children are more susceptible to serious injury in both the long- and short-term from these injections than are adults, although adults, too, are more likely to be harmed from the vaccines than from COVID itself:
